Identifies hearing problems at a point when they are not yet symptomatic, before the patient is aware and long before it becomes visible on the audiogram.
This screening tool, based on ‘Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs)’, evaluates the integrity (functionality) of the ‘Outer Hair Cells (OHCs)’ in the cochlea. This is graphically visualized (per ear) together with a pass/fail assessment (per person). In case of a ‘fail’, the tool flags the appropriate action in relation to the degree of dysfunction of the OHCs.
This is game changing for Primary Care Providers when it comes to providing reliable hearing screening, raising awareness and protecting people from irreversible hearing loss.
